Leighton’s 6 month photo session

A couple weeks ago, we had a session with the lovely and talented Jenny Perry Photography for Leighton’s 6 months photos. We met her at Whittier Mill Park, which is near our house and one of my favorite spots for photo sessions with my clients. We had so much fun working with Jenny and exploring more parts of the park that we hadn’t been to before. Leighton was a little angel, smiling and laughing and even sitting up for the camera.

We just got our gallery back, and I couldn’t wait to share some of our favorites with everyone. It’s not often that I get to be the subject instead of the photographer, so this was a nice treat to have these photos taken with the two loves of my life. I’m head over heels for these photos and will cherish them forever!

baby nora {newborn}

A couple weeks ago, I got to spend the morning photographing little newborn Nora, who was 15 days young. Her mom Chelsey is a friend of a friend who I hadn’t seen in years, so it was really fun to catch up and meet her so sweet husband Chaz — and of course ”ooh and ahh” that precious baby girl. It was a very rainy and dreary day when we did their session, but this little lady’s nursery was full of warmth and joy. I just love that banner over her crib — one of Chelsey’s friends made it for her, which makes it even sweeter. And oh, that tiny tutu — it’s just too much. Enjoy!

I had the pleasure of photographing the Rounds family last weekend at a cute little park area behind the Smyrna Market Village. Beautiful fall leaves, an overcast afternoon, and a pond filled with lots of ducks made for a great session… not to mention the two adorable little ones!

When one of my oldest college friends, Dana, asked me to photograph her family, I was so excited. We don’t see each other as much as we would like, but when we do, it’s like no time has passed. Her husband adores her and their 3 little girls, and speaking of… how absolutely precious are those little ones? It was such a fun morning playing in the leaves, kissing on baby sister, and letting one little budding photographer snap some photos of Dana and me in between.

And a silly one to end our fun family session!

Our friends have THE cutest little boy. Seriously. He has the most adorable, six-toothed smile (is that a word?) and I just love his red hair. Chase is so sweet and smiley, and he’s generally one of the happiest little guys I know.

I got to photograph him and his parents for a holiday session in the park over the weekend, and despite his best efforts to make me chase him all over the place, we ended up with some great shots. I think the verdict is in — he definitely prefers eating his puffs and playing on the swings and slides over sitting nicely and posing for portraits. Big surprise — I’m sure most of us would!

Last weekend, I had the pleasure of photographing 3 different groups of people near and dear to my heart. First up, my cousin’s three beautiful, blonde children. We headed down to Krog Street to take advantage of the graffiti art and do some skateboarding with the boys. It was a fun morning, and I loved getting to spend time with my cousin and her sassy, silly, not-so-small babies.

Last weekend, I spent Sunday afternoon doing a photo session at Taylor-Brawner Park with one of my college roommates, Carson, and her adorable little family. I’ve recently started on a new adventure in photography in preparation for shooting a friend’s wedding next summer. Photography has always been a passion of mine, and I’m so excited that this opportunity gave me the push to pursue it. It’s been fun taking classes and experimenting so far, and I am so excited to see where this takes me.

It’s amazing to see how one of my first college friends has become such a wonderful mom to two precious little ones in the past few years. Thank you to the Webers for being my first test models and letting me document this moment in time for you guys. You all did a most fantastic job!

And yes, the kids’ eyes really are that blue.
